Bible Promises

"I think that when people give themselves time to be quiet, God will really speak wonderful things to their hearts. These promises are for people who will take the time to listen. They won't try to outdo the noise of the world or impress with special effects. They are for the hurting, the weak, and the searching." ~Mark Wash

PROMISE #98 - APRIL 8

4/8/2026

Picture

And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath He quickened [made alive] together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses; blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross. ~Colossians 2:13-14

In Colossians 2:13-14, Paul the Apostle makes it very clear that God the Father has forgiven all of our sins,  any trespasses against us, and even cancelled any charges against us! Because of Jesus Christ's cross, all of our sins, failures, and mistakes have been taken away and nailed to the cross!

Not just the sins we've done in the past, but also the ones we're doing now and will do in the future. The work of Christ has dealt a huge blow to sin and death in our lives. In Christ, we are now new beings. Everything has changed; the old is gone. Don't worry if you have trouble with past sins. Hebrews 8:12 says that God has decided to forget our sins.

The sacrifice of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will wash away our guilty conscience. Because of what Jesus did for us, all of our sins have been forgiven, and we are now alive in Him. Today, I pray that we all just believe this.

I hope we don't let negative thoughts keep us stuck in the past. We should have the courage to agree with what Paul the Apostle said in Romans 8:1, which says, "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit."

Prayer:

Thank you, Father, for sending your only Son to die on the cross so that I could become holy and acceptable in your sight. Help me believe that all of my sins, past, present, and future, have been dealt with so that I don't feel condemned in any way that makes me feel unloved and unaccepted.

By faith, I say that I am your beloved child, brought to life by my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

I pray in the name of Jesus, Amen.

    About

Although every promise in the Bible is important, not all apply to the child of God. If you have made Jesus Christ the Lord of your life, all of the promises are precious and important! If you haven't yet felt God's love through His Son, Jesus Christ, we hope that by reading these promises, you will gain a better idea of how great God is and how great His plans and purposes are for your life.

2 Corinthians 1:20 reminds the child of God that no matter how many promises God has made, they are all "Yes" in Christ. And so we say "Amen" through Him to bring glory to God. The apostle Paul writes, "For all the promises of God in Him are yea, and in Him Amen, unto the glory of God by us."

We hope that each daily promise will teach you more about the God who keeps all promises.
