Bible Promises

"I think that when people give themselves time to be quiet, God will really speak wonderful things to their hearts. These promises are for people who will take the time to listen. They won't try to outdo the noise of the world or impress with special effects. They are for the hurting, the weak, and the searching." ~Mark Wash

PROMISE #129 - MAY 9

5/9/2026

Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. ~Romans 8:26

Picture
The promise of today is encouraging news to all who have ever felt weak and unsure of what to pray for. I find it very comforting to know that the Holy Spirit that lives inside of me is ready and willing and able to help me in my greatest moments of weakness.

But what about when I feel self-sufficient and powerful? When I rely on my strength, what is the Spirit of the living God doing? Is He helping me then, or is He only waiting for me to be reminded once again that apart from Jesus I can do nothing? (John 15:5) I think one of the great principles of the Christian life is the principle of weakness. As the Apostle Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 12:1-10, when he was weak, then he was strong because God's grace was made perfect in his weakness.

If you are weak today, have courage! The Spirit of the living God in you will keep you in your greatest weakness and pray through you the words you need to speak to the Father when you have no words. May we all receive a fresh revelation today of the glorious Kingdom principle of weakness.

Prayer:

Thank You, Father, for the blessed assurance that I do not have to rely on my strength to find my way through this world. Thank You that when I am weak, Your strength in Christ is made perfect in me. Help me to rest in Your promise to strengthen me and to be assured that Your Holy Spirit, who lives in me, will help me in my greatest moments of weakness.

In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

    About

Although every promise in the Bible is important, not all apply to the child of God. If you have made Jesus Christ the Lord of your life, all of the promises are precious and important! If you haven't yet felt God's love through His Son, Jesus Christ, we hope that by reading these promises, you will gain a better idea of how great God is and how great His plans and purposes are for your life.

2 Corinthians 1:20 reminds the child of God that no matter how many promises God has made, they are all "Yes" in Christ. And so we say "Amen" through Him to bring glory to God. The apostle Paul writes, "For all the promises of God in Him are yea, and in Him Amen, unto the glory of God by us."

We hope that each daily promise will teach you more about the God who keeps all promises.
