My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up. ~Psalm 5:3 God is with us when we are awake. God is with us when we are asleep. King David said in Psalm 139 there is no place he can go to get away from the presence of the Lord. In today’s psalm, King David says that when we cry to the Lord in the morning, He hears our prayers.
Think about it for a second. God watches over us when we are sleeping, and He is right there, ready to hear our prayers the moment we wake up! I am amazed how our Heavenly Father is so attentive to our needs. As Jesus told us in Matthew 6:8, our Heavenly Father knows what we need before we ask. So when you open your eyes tomorrow morning, remember this promise: God is waiting to hear from you. His heart longs for us to fellowship with Him morning, noon, and night. He never leaves us, and He listens for our voice when we rise in the morning. Prayer: Father, I thank You for Your listening ear in the morning, as You listen to me like I am the only person in the universe. I don’t know how You are so in tune with what I want that You know what I need before I ask for it. Help me to feel Your presence when I rise in the morning and Your desire for me to bring my petitions to You. Help me cry to You when I first open my eyes each new day. I pray in the name of Jesus, Amen. |
