PROMISE #155 - JUNE 4

“Thou openest thine hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing.” ~Psalm 145:16

This is a promise to remember. When God opens His hand, He gives us His mighty provisions! There are times when I ask for daily bread, and it sounds like I’m asking for some big miracle. But the reality is that fathers do support their children. God is the perfect Father and has so promised to provide for all that He has made.

Unfortunately the world still sees unimaginable suffering. As far as I know God has provided enough food to feed every person on the globe. The problem is not Him but the ones who are in charge of the resources of the Earth.

There would be no starvation if we were willing to share the wealth of resources God has given us. It is not God who withholds, but a world of orphan-hearted people unwilling to share what they have received.

We need not look to our own resources for answers to our daily provision but to the unlimited resources that come from heaven. May we all say to our heavenly Father the prayer Jesus taught us to pray, "Give us this day our daily bread."

If Jesus said that we are to ask our Father daily for provision, then we need to connect our faith with the expectation that He hears our prayers and will faithfully provide just by opening up His hand.

Prayer:

Father, thank You that You faithfully provide for all You have created simply because You are a good Father who loves to care for His children. I pray that I will not live in fear of lack but will live a trusting life knowing full well that if You feed the birds of the air and clothe the lilies of the field, You will certainly look after me too!
