Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever. ~Psalm 12:7 King David in Psalm 12 speaks of the wickedness of his generation and how the ungodly of the day abused the poor. David declares that even though ungodliness and pain surrounded him, the Lord would be faithful to watch over all His loved ones, despite this seemingly depressing situation.
The point of today’s promise is that the Lord has promised to watch over us and guard us forever . . . even in the midst of an ungodly generation. We’re called to be in the world but not of the world; we all know this truth. My prayer today is that we each feel safe in our Father's hands, as He promises to guard us forever, even in difficult circumstances. Prayer: Father, thank You for watching over me day and night as I live under the shelter of Your wing. You are my strong fortress, and I feel safe and secure knowing you promise to keep me safe forever. Help me to rest in this promise today so that I won’t be distracted by the things in life that try to put fear in me. In the name of Jesus, Amen. |
