 Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful. ~Psalm 116:5Our God and Father is just as kind and forgiving as He is just. He is fair and holy, as well as kind and loving. Some people might think these attributes are contradictory. How can the same God who is holy and just also be kind and forgiving?
The truth is that Jesus Christ made our salvation possible when He died on the cross two thousand plus years ago. Because of this one-time act of love, we all now have His great mercy. As a child of God, take a moment to contemplate His sacrifice . . . because you are in His Son, you can now go into the throne room of our righteous and merciful Heavenly Father whenever you want. With this truth in mind, let's joyfully think about the invitation in Hebrews 4:16: "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need." Prayer: Thank you, Father, for the endless mercy. You have shown me through the life of your Son. I know I've been saved by grace, which is a free gift from You that I received through faith. Help me to believe that I am now the righteousness of God through Jesus Christ, my Lord, because of Your great mercy. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. |
