PROMISE #146 - MAY 26

He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. ~Matthew 13:11

In our Scripture for today, Jesus tells His disciples that the Father wanted them to know the mysteries of the kingdom. Jesus had just told the crowds the parable of the sower and the seed, and then He explained to His dear friends what it meant.

This is what He did because He did not mean to keep His disciples in the dark. His desire (and His Father's) is always to elevate our level of revelation of the vastness of the kingdom we are called to live in. He desires us not to be in darkness; we are called to be children of light!

It is our Father’s gracious pleasure to give us His kingdom. (Luke 12:32) Jesus said this in John 5:19-20: "Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of Himself but what He seeth the Father do: for what things soever He doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. For the Father loveth the Son and sheweth Him all things that Himself doeth: and He will shew Him greater works than these, that ye may marvel."

Our God and Father loves to reveal to us what He is doing through the Spirit He has given us. May each one of us know a greater revealing of the mysteries of the wonderful kingdom of God in the days ahead and, with childlike awe and wonder, be genuinely amazed by our Father's goodness.

Prayer:

Father, thank You that You are willing to reveal Yourself to me and the mysteries of Your kingdom through Your Holy Spirit who lives within me. I ask for a fresh revelation of what that means today because Jesus said it is Your great joy to bestow the kingdom to me. Let faith arise in my heart to believe and receive all you have in store for me in this wonderful day.
