The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life. ~Job 33:4 In today’s Scripture verse, one of Job’s friends says that it is the Spirit of God who created us and that it is His breath that gives us life. When God made Adam in the Garden of Eden, He breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and Adam became a living soul. After the resurrection, Jesus breathed on His disciples, and they received the Holy Spirit.
Each breath you and I breathe is a gift from the Father of Lights. He made us and said He would care for us. Every good and perfect gift comes from our Heavenly Father. The Maker will continue to provide us with everything we need, physically and spiritually. May we be reminded of the goodness of our God and Father each time we draw a breath into our bodies. He created us, and His breath sustains us! Prayer: Father, thank you for sustaining me every moment of every day with the very breath of your life. Help me remember that You are with me always, in every one of the 20,000 breaths I will take in the next 24 hours. You are so good and kind to me and closer to me than I could have imagined. So I will calm my anxious heart and close my eyes and breathe in your love In Jesus' name I pray. Amen. |
