Bible Promises

"I think that when people give themselves time to be quiet, God will really speak wonderful things to their hearts. These promises are for people who will take the time to listen. They won't try to outdo the noise of the world or impress with special effects. They are for the hurting, the weak, and the searching." --Mark Wash

. . . God hath sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.  ~Galatians 4:6

The Spirit of the Son inside us is always calling out, "Abba Father!" In New Testament times, little kids would call their dads "Abba," which is an Aramaic word for "father." It would be like saying "dad" or "papa" in English. Our spiritual man is always crying out "Papa" to God, whether we know it or not, because we have the Spirit of the Son within us.

Our Heavenly Father is pleased when we call out "Abba!" to Him. This is why God gave us the Spirit of His Son: so that He could be a Father to us (2 Corinthians 6:18). Today, my prayer is that we all hear the cry that comes from deep within our hearts as we join with the Spirit of the Son that lives in us and calls out, "Abba Father!"

Prayer:

Thank you, Father, for sending your Son's Spirit into my heart, which always cries out... "Father! Abba!" Help me to be aware of this Abba cry today, which is ringing in my heart all the time.

I pray in Jesus' name, Amen

Although every promise in the Bible is important, not all apply to the child of God. If you have made Jesus Christ the Lord of your life, all of the promises are precious and important! If you haven't yet felt God's love through His Son, Jesus Christ, we hope that by reading these promises, you will gain a better idea of how great God is and how great His plan and purpose are for your life.

2 Corinthians 1:20 reminds the child of God that no matter how many promises God has made, they are all "Yes" in Christ. And so we say "Amen" through him to bring glory to God. The apostle Paul writes, "For all the promises of God in Him are yea, and in Him Amen, unto the glory of God by us."

We hope that each daily promise will teach you more about the God who keeps all promises.
