Promise #70 - March 11

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. ~Ephesians 1:3

It is a wonderful thing to have your earthly father's blessing, but probably many people have not been so privileged to have had that experience with their own fathers. Some people may have even thought they were cheated out of their father's blessing, just like Esau thought he was cheated out of his brother Jacob's blessing. You can read the story in Genesis 27.

But the truth is that our God and Father made a way for us to get all the blessings of heaven through the cross of Jesus Christ (Galatians 3:13–14). Ephesians 1:3 promises us today that we have been given all spiritual blessings in heavenly places. You have every blessing in heaven because of what Jesus did.

We don't have to feel cheated out of any earthly blessings because our Heavenly Father has given us more than enough blessings from heaven to make up for the ones we don't have on earth. We are not orphans trying to struggle through this life, but we are part of the greatest family ever because God is our Father, and Jesus is our Lord and Savior. We have been blessed in Christ with every heavenly blessing because of our rich inheritance! Praise the Lord.

Prayer:

Thank you, Father, for giving me every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places today. I thank You for giving me every blessing that exists in the heavenly realm because I am eternally united with Your beloved Son, Jesus. Even if my earthly parents couldn't bless me the way I need, I am grateful for all the blessings You have given me. Today I am very blessed, so please help me be a blessing to everyone I meet.
