Promise #68 - March 9

For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. ~Colossians 3:3

For everyone who has received the free gift of eternal life, their old life is over and everything is new in Christ. We should read the context to better understand today's promise. "If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God." (Colossians 3:1-3).

This Bible verse talks about how every believer is a royal person in Christ, sitting at God's right hand. I don't think Paul just wanted to paint an idealistic picture; I think it's a spiritual truth. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is sitting next to our Father in heaven, and since we are connected to Jesus, we are sitting there too!

The spiritual truth of today's promise is much more than we can understand with our natural minds. We need the Holy Spirit to reveal it to us. How can we comprehend our identity as concealed in Christ and positioned at the right hand of God? We can't understand this promise without the Holy Spirit's help to make it real for us!

So, my prayer today is that we will understand our spiritual position in Christ better than we ever have before. Holy Spirit, please come and help us understand this amazing truth. We want to see with our spiritual eyes today and understand every wonderful promise that God and our Father make to us through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Prayer:

Thank You, Father, for hiding me in Christ at Your right hand right now. Please help me believe this is true, no matter what problems I might have today. I ask that Your Holy Spirit would open my heart's eyes even more so that I can focus on the things I can't see today, which are much more important than the world I live in right now.
