PROMISE #76 - MARCH 17

But the anointing which ye have received of Him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in Him. ~1 John 2:27

In today's promise, the Apostle John tells us that God's anointing is with us and will teach us everything we need to know. The Greek word for "anointing" in this passage is "charisma", the Enhanced Strong's Lexicon says that it is anything that is smeared on, like an unguent or ointment. The word usually refers to the ceremony in which a priest is anointed and sent out to serve the public. It is interesting to think that God has covered us with His presence so that we can live our lives on earth as kings and priests (Revelation 1:6).

This is a wonderful truth .  .  . we are the home of God Almighty and the temple of His Holy Spirit! If we listen to what the Spirit is saying, God has promised to lead and guide us in all truth.

Today, I pray that we will remember the anointing that our God and Father has given us, which makes us His beloved sons and daughters. We should all have faith that we are not alone in this life. The anointing will guide us and teach us everything we need to know.

Prayer:

Thank You, Father, for giving me Your Holy Spirit so that I can learn Your ways and be gently led down the right paths. I pray that today I will remember that I am not alone on this journey and that the resources of heaven are inside me to teach me everything I need to know.
