Bible Promises

"I think that when people give themselves time to be quiet, God will really speak wonderful things to their hearts. These promises are for people who will take the time to listen. They won't try to outdo the noise of the world or impress with special effects. They are for the hurting, the weak, and the searching." --Mark Wash

Promise #24 - January 24

Charity [love] suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.  ~1 Corinthians 13:4-7

This Bible verse uses the Greek word "agape" for charity, which means God's unconditional love. Today's promise talks about how our Father will never give up on us, no matter what we go through.

God's love never stops and never changes. His love for us doesn't change like shadows do; it will always be there for us. His love will always keep us safe; trust us, believe the best about every situation, and stay true. This is how much God loves us.

It is not like any love we have ever known on earth. God's love for us is unconditional and everlasting. Even the love of the best father, mother, brother, sister, friend, spouse, or anyone else would only be a shadow of that. As the Apostle Paul prayed in Ephesians 3:14-19, my prayer today is that we would be able to understand how big God's love is for us.

"For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God."

Prayer:

Thank you, Father, for the everlasting love You have given me in Christ through the power of Your Spirit that lives in me. I ask for the strength to understand Your endless love for me in a way that I have never been able to before, so that I can be filled to the full measure of your fullness.

I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

    About

Although every promise in the Bible is important, not all apply to the child of God. If you have made Jesus Christ the Lord of your life, all of the promises are precious and important! If you haven't yet felt God's love through His Son, Jesus Christ, we hope that by reading these promises, you will gain a better idea of how great God is and how great His plans and purposes are for your life.

2 Corinthians 1:20 reminds the child of God that no matter how many promises God has made, they are all "Yes" in Christ. And so we say "Amen" through Him to bring glory to God. The apostle Paul writes, "For all the promises of God in Him are yea, and in Him Amen, unto the glory of God by us."

We hope that each daily promise will teach you more about the God who keeps all promises.
