Bible Promises

"I think that when people give themselves time to be quiet, God will really speak wonderful things to their hearts. These promises are for people who will take the time to listen. They won't try to outdo the noise of the world or impress with special effects. They are for the hurting, the weak, and the searching." ~Mark Wash

PROMISE #120 - APRIL 30

4/30/2026

. . it was [is] impossible for God to lie, . . Hebrews 6:17-18

Picture
"Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability [unchangeable] of His counsel [character], confirmed it by an oath: that by two immutable [unchangeable] things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation [encouragement], who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us." (Hebrews 6:17-18).

In our Scripture reading today, the writer of Hebrews reminds us that we are heirs of the promise of God. He also stresses that we can depend on God's immutable character, for He cannot lie. God always keeps His promises, and we can rely on everything. He has promised to be true. We can trust Him completely and rely on everything He’s said.

Every promise of our God and Father is yes and amen in Christ Jesus. (2 Cor. 1:20). May we have faith today to declare that God, our good Father, is faithful to fulfill His promises, for it is impossible for Him to lie.

Prayer:

Thank you, Father, that every promise you have made in Christ is yes and amen for me. I pray I will not lose heart until I see the fulfillment of Your promises. You are the promise keeper, and I am one of your beloved heirs. So I pray that I will be filled with hope today and that I will trust you completely. I know You always keep your Word.

I pray in Jesus' name, Amen

PROMISE #119 - APRIL 29

4/29/2026

Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away. ~Isaiah 51:11

Picture
Nehemiah 8:10 says the joy of the Lord is our strength. In John 17:13, Jesus, in His high priestly prayer to His Father, prays that we might have the full measure of His joy. The Apostle Paul writes in Romans 14:17, “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.”

There is no doubt that the joy of the Lord is our inheritance, and the promise of today tells us that the joy of the Lord will be upon our heads forever! We know the promise will be fulfilled in heaven, but my prayer today is that we experience the joy of the Lord here on earth. In Psalm 30:5 we read, "Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning!" Thank God for that promise!

Psalm 16:11 says, "Thou wilt show me the path of life: in Thy presence is fullness of joy; at Thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore." I am certain that God is full of joy, and He wants us to be full of joy too! May the joy of the Lord overflow more today in each one of us; may His joy take away all sorrow and mourning!”

Prayer:

Father, thank You for Your eternal joy, which casts out all sadness and mourning. Fill me today with Your joy so I can share it with everyone I meet. For I do know in my heart that it is your profound delight to fill me continually with the same joy that overflows from your indwelling Holy Spirit who dwells in me.

In the name of Jesus, amen.

PROMISE #118 - APRIL 28

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. ~Revelation 21:4

Picture
Today’s promise tells us there will come a day when God Himself will wipe away all of our tears. There will be no more death, sorrow, tears, or pain on that great and glorious day.

The light and love of our Father's embrace will wash away all the memories of suffering in this world. God Himself will wipe away every tear we have cried. He promises to take away all the pain we have felt on this earth.

May this promise provide hope to those in difficult circumstances. “Let this promise be a comfort to those who are mourning the loss of a loved one. One day, we will see Jesus face to face and be held in the arms of our Heavenly Father.

May this promise bring joy to our hearts and stir up our expectation for eternal life in the arms of Him who loves us with a love beyond measure.

Prayer:

Thank you Father for knowing all of my struggles and for being near to me when I am hurting. Whatever I encounter today, I pray I will remember your constant presence. Help me remember that you promised to be with me not only in this life but for all eternity. For nothing in all creation will ever separate me from your love that is in Christ Jesus our Lord, today, tomorrow, and forever.

In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

PROMISE #117 - APRIL 27

. . the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come. ~John 16:13

Picture
A long time ago, I had the challenging task of traveling from a country setting to the expressway. It was to be an approximate 20-minute drive. This was before the days of owning a GPS. My unfamiliarity with the countryside and limited time posed a challenge.

I was a little worried about how I would arrive there without directions. One of the family members I was staying with saw that I was having trouble and offered to drive her car in front of mine to show me the way to the expressway. I was so happy that I didn't have to confront the changing speed limits, tricky turns, and other problems by myself.

The sun was shining brightly over the cornfields as we passed by, and I recall how much I appreciated the journey. During this experience, I heard the Lord say to my heart, "This is what it feels like to be led." I instantly understood what the Lord was trying to tell me.

I did not need to concern myself with reaching my destination, as I was simply following the vehicle ahead. I just had to follow. When we let the Spirit of God lead us, we can relax and go where He wants us to go. Romans 8:14 says, "As many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God."

Today's promise says that we don't have to navigate the course of life on our own. Jesus said the Holy Spirit would guide us in all truth, and we just have to follow Him. Praise the Lord! That's wonderful news!

Prayer:

Thank you, Father, for leading me in the right direction through your Holy Spirit. I just have to listen to your quiet voice; I don't have to figure out my own path. Today, I choose to calm my worried heart so I can hear your soft voice as you take my hand and show me the way.

I pray in Jesus' name. Amen.

PROMISE #116 - APRIL 26

But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you. ~Luke 12:31

Picture
Today's Bible verse is from Luke 12:22-34, which is a longer passage where Jesus talks about some important things we often worry about, like food, clothes, and a place to live. He tells us not to worry about these things because we have a loving Father who has promised to take care of us. Jesus uses examples of the lilies of the field and the birds of the air to show that God cares for all of His creation.

The promise today is based on the idea that your Father in heaven knows what you need and will always provide it to you, just like a good father does for his children. We can focus on our Heavenly Father's kingdom and do His work because we don't have to worry about taking care of ourselves.

This part of the Bible has been challenging for me at times. Jesus tells us not to worry about our lives. I often find it easier to say than to do. Jesus tells us that we can live a life free of worry.

Today, I pray that we all believe what God says. If we truly embrace this message, we will experience a life without worry and stress, as long as we trust Him with our lives. When we really want to find Him, He takes care of everything else in our lives!

Prayer:

Thank you, Father, for saying You will handle all the little things in my life so I don't have to worry. Please help me focus on your kingdom instead of all the things on this earth that I can't change by worrying. I trust that you will take care of me because I know you are a loving Father who takes care of the birds and flowers.

I pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

    About

Although every promise in the Bible is important, not all apply to the child of God. If you have made Jesus Christ the Lord of your life, all of the promises are precious and important! If you haven't yet felt God's love through His Son, Jesus Christ, we hope that by reading these promises, you will gain a better idea of how great God is and how great His plans and purposes are for your life.

2 Corinthians 1:20 reminds the child of God that no matter how many promises God has made, they are all "Yes" in Christ. And so we say "Amen" through Him to bring glory to God. The apostle Paul writes, "For all the promises of God in Him are yea, and in Him Amen, unto the glory of God by us."

We hope that each daily promise will teach you more about the God who keeps all promises.
