Bible Promises

"I think that when people give themselves time to be quiet, God will really speak wonderful things to their hearts. These promises are for people who will take the time to listen. They won't try to outdo the noise of the world or impress with special effects. They are for the hurting, the weak, and the searching." ~Mark Wash

PROMISE #151 - MAY 31

5/31/2026

In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began. ~Titus 1:2

Picture
Paul opens his letter to Titus with two verses. "Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness; In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began."

Paul wrote this message to Titus two thousand years ago. Two thousand years later, it is as relevant today as the day he wrote the words. God cannot lie, and we can hope in the promise of eternal life that He made before the world began. We can trust this unchanging truth, whether we feel like it or not. The promise is not based on our faithfulness but on God’s.

I don’t know about you, but it helps me to know that my eternal destiny is settled, not because of my own self-effort, but because I have a Father who is unyielding in His determination to keep His promises. So breathe deep and relax. You are so loved, more than you could ever imagine, and the One who created you has prepared an eternal place for you to live forever in His presence. May the thought of this wonderful promise bring hope to all our hearts today.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for the promise of eternal life. You have given me this through my union with Your beloved Son. You are the ultimate promise keeper. You cannot lie or change Your mind, so today I want to simply rest in the finished work of all that Christ has done for me, today and throughout eternity.

I pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

PROMISE #150 - MAY 30

Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. ~Philippians 1:6

Picture
God had a plan before the foundation of the world. He saw you, and me, and made provision through His Son Jesus Christ that we might be born into His family. It was His great love for us that He developed a plan for us to do the good works that He had prepared for us before the world began. (Ephesians 2:10)

It was never our work. It was His work. God's heart, God's vision, and God's power will accomplish all He planned and purposed in our lives. So the Apostle Paul encourages the Philippians in today’s promise to be confident in the knowledge that the One who began a good work in them would bring it to completion until the day of Jesus Christ.

God will bring it to completion; He will continue his work until it is finally finished. It is a wonderful promise to know that God has set His whole heart on you and is committed to helping you finish your race!

He started the wonderful work in you and will be faithful to finish it on the day our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ comes back to take us home.

Prayer:

Thank You, Father, for Your faithful love and your commitment to complete what You started in my life for eternity. Help me rest in your promise to empower me to fulfill all you have planned for my life in Christ. Help me to cooperate today with that faithful work.

In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

PROMISE #149 - MAY 29

Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. ~Matthew 5:8

Picture
In the Old Testament you could not look upon the face of God and live to tell of it. Not even Moses, one of God's best friends, could look at the Lord's face and live. But in this passage from the Sermon on the Mount Jesus tells us that the pure in heart will see God.

It is because of Jesus and the price He paid with His life to become our life that we are able to see God and not be consumed. His death and resurrection are our righteousness by His righteousness. The Bible says right now we are hidden with Christ in God (Colossians 3:1-3). Jesus’ holiness is now our holiness, and Jesus’ Father is our Father (John 20:17).

My prayer today is that the Spirit of God will make the benefits of our salvation more real to us than ever before. Because of Jesus, we now have access to the throne room of God 24/7, and we can approach it without fear of being consumed. We have full access to our God and Father in Christ, night or day, so we can boldly approach Him with confidence! Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for allowing me to come into Your throne room, day or night, to see Your face. For with You is the fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. I pray that Your love’s fire would burn up any feelings of shame or condemnation that I wrestle with so that I can boldly come before You any time, day or night.

In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

PROMISE #148 - MAY 28

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him. ~1 Corinthians 2:9

Picture
When someone throws a birthday party or special event for a loved one, there is a lot of prep that goes into planning ahead of time. We consider the meal, the decorations, the dessert, and the gift because we want everything to be perfect. We can feel the excitement and anticipation building as the countdown begins to the celebration of the big day. Is this how God feels when He is preparing for us?

1 Corinthians 2:9 reminds us that we can't even begin to conceive of the wonderful things God has prepared for us. Verse 10 continues to say that, although we cannot comprehend these wonderful things on our own, God has chosen to reveal them to us through His Spirit.

My prayer today is that we all ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to us more of the amazing things of the kingdom that our God and Father has prepared for us. May the Spirit of God empower us today to understand how deep, how wide, how long, and how high is His love for us in Jesus so that we may be filled to the full measure of the fullness of God. (Eph. 3:14-19)

"Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, unto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen." (Ephesians 3:20-21).

Prayer:

Father, thank You for preparing an eternal banquet of spectacular things I can’t even imagine. Today, fill my heart with joy. I ask your Holy Spirit to give me a greater understanding of your love for me than I could ever imagine. Today, Father, I set my heart to receive a greater impartation of your goodness that is mine in Christ than I have ever experienced before.

I pray in Jesus' name. Amen.

PROMISE #147 - MAY 27

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God. ~Revelation 2:7

Picture
In the book of Revelation, chapters 2 and 3 describe how Jesus has a specific message for seven of the churches existing at that time. The words Jesus spoke to these churches were indeed very sobering, but I think it is important to remember that each one of His messages ended with a promise.

In today’s Scripture reading, Jesus ends His admonition to the church at Ephesus with a promise that those who overcome will eat of the tree of life in the garden of God. This is a wonderful promise of complete restoration for all who are in Christ. Everything in the history of mankind began in a garden, and it was from those heights that Adam and Eve fell. From the beginning, God has wanted to restore His people to all that they lost the day Adam and Eve left the garden.

Today Jesus promises that He will restore those who conquer to a glory greater than Adam and Eve enjoyed before the Fall. For all the hardships of life here on earth, may we all be reminded that our destiny is to live forever, fully restored to all that our Father originally intended for us. One day, the completed work of Jesus will make you and me taste the choicest fruit from the tree of life itself. Hallelujah!

Prayer:

Father, I appreciate Your promise of eternal life in the everlasting union I have with Your beloved Son. Today I pray that hope will be lifted in my heart, knowing that I have an inheritance that lasts forever in the paradise you designed me to inhabit for all eternity. May this truth, when seen, outshine all sorrow I shall meet on this side of heaven.

I pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

    About

Although every promise in the Bible is important, not all apply to the child of God. If you have made Jesus Christ the Lord of your life, all of the promises are precious and important! If you haven't yet felt God's love through His Son, Jesus Christ, we hope that by reading these promises, you will gain a better idea of how great God is and how great His plans and purposes are for your life.

2 Corinthians 1:20 reminds the child of God that no matter how many promises God has made, they are all "Yes" in Christ. And so we say "Amen" through Him to bring glory to God. The apostle Paul writes, "For all the promises of God in Him are yea, and in Him Amen, unto the glory of God by us."

We hope that each daily promise will teach you more about the God who keeps all promises.
