“Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?” (Matthew 6:26)
One can never fully comprehend the majesty of God’s love. It is unfathomable that the universe’s Creator is concerned with the complexities of human existence. He has a name for each star. He is aware of how many grains of sand are on the ocean floor. He is aware of the quantity of hair on every human head in existence. Even still, we find it difficult to put our complete trust in Him. Isn’t He deserving of our complete trust and submission if He has the power to speak the universe into existence?
Ever ponder why God felt compelled to bestow such exquisite gifts? He didn't have to paint such gorgeous sunsets or add the zebra stripes. Having a wide variety of flowers, birds, and insects was superfluous. Who said sea turtles have to be born with the inbuilt capacity to travel thousands of miles to deposit their eggs on the same beach? Why such a spectacular creation?
The whole of creation cries out for belief in God. God did not skip a beat. He made the Earth capable of supporting itself. Trees lose their leaves, birds migrate, bears hibernate, and plants provide food and oxygen for human consumption. There are mysterious ways in which the sun, moon, tides, and seasons interact. We currently inhabit a massive magnetic fireball that is traveling through space at precisely the proper angle and speed to support life. Who carried out all of this? Who bestowed such gifts?
It was God. He makes the ideal gift-giver. His gifts fulfill our needs and suit our desires. Before we even need to ask, He already knows what we need. Look around and decide to recognize His gifts. Allow them to increase your faith in Him.
Prayer: Father in heaven, I give You thanks and praise for Your wonderful blessings. There is proof of Your trustworthiness everywhere I choose to search. Please inspire me to deliver these gifts to people who are in such need of Your love. In Christ’s Name, Amen
