Today's Bible Reading

April 4, 2021
Today's Bible Reading Plan selections can be found below. If you don't have a Bible with you, just click the references to read each passage online:

Old Testament
Joshua 8-9  —  8.5 minutes
Psalms 75  —  2.0 minutes

New Testament
Mark 1:35-45  —  2.5 minutes
1 Corinthians 3  —  5.0 minutes

Total Average Read Time — 18.0 minutes

This reading plan will make it easy and fun for you to read through the entire Bible this year. Here are a few things to keep in mind:
  • Although the plan begins with January, you can begin at any time during the year.
  • Each month’s readings are based on 25 days worth of readings, which means you get several free days if you ever fall behind. This makes reaching your goal a lot more possible!
  • Each day’s readings will include selections from both the Old and New Testament, reinforcing the incredible unity of the Scriptures. Perhaps most important, you will focus daily on the life of Jesus by reading a portion of one of the Gospels every single day of the year.
May God bless you as you open His precious Word each day, and remember to pray for His guidance in your study. It is our desire that you will become increasingly changed into His likeness by beholding the Lord through His Word.

Today's Meditation - Psalms

Psalm 44:18-26
The cry for help is a common one – not always is the answer given that we wanted. God’s timing is quite different from ours. The psalmist is very aware that God knows everything he is experiencing and more. He has not forgotten the name of God, and simply wonders why there is no answer from the Lord. We all need to learn that God has not forsaken us and that He does hear us. Our job is to wait on Him – His way is always best and perfect – just what we really need!
  1. He reviews his commitment to God – verses 18-20
  2. He reminds us that God knows it all – verse 22
  3. He remembers what the believer faces – verse 23
  4. He reflects on his present condition – verses 24-25
  5. He responds to the mercy of God – verse 26
May we never forget that God is our Help, and that because of His mercies, He will never forsake us.
Verse for Meditation: Verse 21 – “Shall not God search this out? For He knoweth the secrets of the heart.”
