Today's Bible Reading

April 2, 2021
Today's Bible Reading Plan selections can be found below. If you don't have a Bible with you, just click the references to read each passage online:

Old Testament
Joshua 3-5  —  8.0 minutes
Psalms 73  —  4.5 minutes

New Testament
Mark 1:9-20  —  2.5 minutes
1 Corinthians 1:18-31  —  3.0 minutes

Total Average Read Time — 18.0 minutes

This reading plan will make it easy and fun for you to read through the entire Bible this year. Here are a few things to keep in mind:
  • Although the plan begins with January, you can begin at any time during the year.
  • Each month’s readings are based on 25 days worth of readings, which means you get several free days if you ever fall behind. This makes reaching your goal a lot more possible!
  • Each day’s readings will include selections from both the Old and New Testament, reinforcing the incredible unity of the Scriptures. Perhaps most important, you will focus daily on the life of Jesus by reading a portion of one of the Gospels every single day of the year.
May God bless you as you open His precious Word each day, and remember to pray for His guidance in your study. It is our desire that you will become increasingly changed into His likeness by beholding the Lord through His Word.

Today's Meditation - Psalms

Psalm 44:1-8
Israel still needs to believe in this passage, as do we all! What God did in the past He is able to do in the present. Trusting in your own ingenuity, skills, and wisdom, often leads to disaster; our trust must be in the Lord Who will save us from all our enemies.
  1. The report concerning what God has done – verses 1-2
  2. The reason they conquered in the past – verse 3
  3. The request for God’s deliverance – verses 4-5
  4. Their reliance upon God – verses 6-7
  5. Their response of praise to the Lord – verse 8
Trusting in ourselves is the opposite, of course, of trusting in the Lord to deliver us. God desires that we rely upon Him at all times and learn to praise Him for Who He is and for what He can do!
Verse for Meditation: Verse 8 – “In God we boast all the day long, and praise Thy name for ever.”

Today's Prayer

“Lord, forgive me for trusting in myself; You only deserve all the praise and glory and You alone are my deliverance.”
