Today's Meditation - Psalms
Psalm 39:1-7
David begins this psalm by referring to the danger of our tongues. He then makes a prayer to the Lord that he might discover how “frail” he was. He ends this section with the fact that his “hope” was in the Lord Himself. We often overestimate our own abilities and resources and we underestimate what God can do.
Verse for Meditation: Verse 7 – “And now, LORD, what wait I for? my hope is in Thee.”

- His request to know his own frailty – verses 4-5
- His reasoning about the lifestyle of people all around him – verse 6
- His response to the Lord – verse 7
