Today's Bible Reading

December 25

Today's Bible Reading Plan selections can be found below. If you don't have a Bible with you, just click the references to read each passage online:

Old Testament
Malachi 1-4  —  8.0 minutes
Job 42  —  4.5 minutes

New Testament
John 21:15-25  —  3.5 minutes
Revelation 22  —  6.0 minutes

Total Average Read Time — 22.0 minutes

Please Note: Today is the 25th of the month. After today, there will be no Bible Reading Plan selections until the 1st of next month. Why not use these extra days to catch up if you’ve fallen behind?

This reading plan will make it easy and fun for you to read through the entire Bible this year. Here are a few things to keep in mind:
  • Although the plan begins with January, you can begin at any time during the year.
  • Each month’s readings are based on 25 days worth of readings, which means you get several free days if you ever fall behind. This makes reaching your goal a lot more possible!
  • Each day’s readings will include selections from both the Old and New Testament, reinforcing the incredible unity of the Scriptures. Perhaps most important, you will focus daily on the life of Jesus by reading a portion of one of the Gospels every single day of the year.
May God bless you as you open His precious Word each day, and remember to pray for His guidance in your study. It is our desire that you will become increasingly changed into His likeness by beholding the Lord through His Word.

Today's Meditation - Psalms

Psalm 146:5-10
On this Christmas Day, we celebrate the birthday of our Lord Jesus Christ, and there is no better day to offer our praise to the Lord. David’s praise of the Lord in this section emphasizes all that God has done and continues to do, and refers to the Lord as His “help” and his “hope.” He mentions His creative power, and His care of the oppressed and hungry; He speaks of how the Lord “openeth the eyes of the blind” and how He “raiseth them that are bowed down.” He loves the righteous and preserves and relieves those in need; and, most of all, He shall “reign forever.” After this list, one cannot help but praise the Lord, and give Him all the glory and thanksgiving for what He continues to do in behalf of His children.
  1. The help that the Lord gives – verse 5
  2. The heavens that He created – verse 6
  3. The hungry that He feeds – verse 7
  4. The healing that He brings – verse 8
  5. The hope that He is forever – verses 9-10
The Lord “shall reign for ever, even thy God, O Zion, unto all generations.” Yes, He is King of kings, and Lord of lords, and is worthy of our praise and worship – MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Verse for Meditation: Verse 8 – “The LORD openeth the eyes of the blind: the LORD raiseth them that are bowed down: the LORD loveth the righteous!”
