December 22

Old Testament
Zechariah 1-5  —  8.0 minutes
Job 40  —  4.0 minutes

New Testament
John 20:19-23  —  1.5 minutes
Revelation 19  —  6.5 minutes

Total Average Read Time — 20.0 minutes

This reading plan will make it easy and fun for you to read through the entire Bible this year. Here are a few things to keep in mind:
  • Although the plan begins with January, you can begin at any time during the year.
  • Each month’s readings are based on 25 days worth of readings, which means you get several free days if you ever fall behind. This makes reaching your goal a lot more possible!
  • Each day’s readings will include selections from both the Old and New Testament, reinforcing the incredible unity of the Scriptures. Perhaps most important, you will focus daily on the life of Jesus by reading a portion of one of the Gospels every single day of the year.
May God bless you as you open His precious Word each day, and remember to pray for His guidance in your study. It is our desire that you will become increasingly changed into His likeness by beholding the Lord through His Word.

Today's Meditation - Psalms

Psalm 145:8-16
This psalm has to be on the believer’s favorite list! Its emphasis on the nature and attributes of our God is so important to our perspective on prayer, praise, and trusting God for everything in our lives. The “glory” of His kingdom is the primary emphasis of this section of the psalm, and it encourages us to know that we are citizens of that kingdom by faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, having been born again by the Holy Spirit of God. We shall rule and reign with our Lord forever! His “power” and “mighty acts” should be praised every day of our lives, and there should be no doubt in our hearts that He can handle any problem we have!
  1. The compassion of God in all He has done – verses 8-9
  2. The commitment of His people to speak of Him – verses 10-12
  3. The character of His kingdom – verse 13
  4. The care of the Lord for all who fall – verse 14
  5. The contentment which all creation enjoys because of Him – verses 15-16
What beautiful words – “satisfiest the desire of every living thing.” Paul wrote to his son in the faith, Timothy (I Timothy 6:6), and said “godliness with contentment is great gain.”
Verse for MeditationVerse 8 – “The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.”
Meditation Prayer: “Thank You, Lord, for Your goodness and Your kindness to me; when I fall, You are there to raise me up, and when I am in need, You are there to supply all my need.”

Today's Prayer

“Thank You, Lord, for Your goodness and Your kindness to me; when I fall, You are there to raise me up, and when I am in need, You are there to supply all my need.”
