Today's Bible Verse

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9

Today's Bible Reading

November 29, 2020

Our Bible Reading Plan runs from the 1st to the 25th of each month.

The next reading will be on the 1st of next month. Check back then!
This reading plan will make it easy and fun for you to read through the entire Bible this year. Here are a few things to keep in mind:
  • Although the plan begins with January, you can begin at any time during the year.
  • Each month’s readings are based on 25 days worth of readings, which means you get several free days if you ever fall behind. This makes reaching your goal a lot more possible!
  • Each day’s readings will include selections from both the Old and New Testament, reinforcing the incredible unity of the Scriptures. Perhaps most important, you will focus daily on the life of Jesus by reading a portion of one of the Gospels every single day of the year.
May God bless you as you open His precious Word each day, and remember to pray for His guidance in your study. It is our desire that you will become increasingly changed into His likeness by beholding the Lord through His Word.

Today's Meditation - Psalms

Psalm 133:1-3
Unity is so needed among believers today. The blessing of the Lord is connected to its importance. Paul wrote in Ephesians 4:3 that we ought to strive to keep the “unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” The devil and his demons cause disunity and strife (James 3:13-18), rather than the fruit of wisdom and peace. The reference in this psalm to “the mountains of Zion” reminds us of the lack of unity concerning the city of Jerusalem. Thank the Lord for the day when the Prince of peace shall return and bring real peace to this troubled world.
  1. The pleasantness of unity – verse 1
  2. The preciousness of unity – verse 2
  3. The picture of unity – verse 3a
  4. The promise of unity – verse 3b
I Corinthians discusses the problem of disunity in the first four chapters, and it obviously was not being practiced in that church. They divided over differences in personality and preaching styles of various church leaders, and had ignored the place of the Holy Spirit in bringing unity to God’s people. Always do your best to bring unity among believers!
Verse for Meditation: Verse 1 – “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!”

Today's Prayer

“Lord, help me to be an instrument for unity among believers, rather than disagreement and disunity.”
