Today's Meditation - Psalms
Psalm 130:1-8
A psalm of forgiveness is a powerful reminder of our Lord’s compassion and concern for His people. The psalm reminds us that if the Lord should list our sins, we wouldn’t stand a chance of surviving it! The good news about our God is that He is “ready to forgive” (Psalm 86:5). Israel’s hope must be in the Lord alone, for He will “redeem” His people from all their iniquities. The apostle John wrote (I John 1:9), “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
Verse for Meditation: Verse 7 – “Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD there is mercy, and with Him is plenteous redemption.”
