Today's Bible Reading

Our Bible Reading Plan runs from the 1st to the 25th of each month.

The next reading will be on the 1st of next month. Check back then!
This reading plan will make it easy and fun for you to read through the entire Bible this year. Here are a few things to keep in mind:
  • Although the plan begins with January, you can begin at any time during the year.
  • Each month’s readings are based on 25 days worth of readings, which means you get several free days if you ever fall behind. This makes reaching your goal a lot more possible!
  • Each day’s readings will include selections from both the Old and New Testament, reinforcing the incredible unity of the Scriptures. Perhaps most important, you will focus daily on the life of Jesus by reading a portion of one of the Gospels every single day of the year.
May God bless you as you open His precious Word each day, and remember to pray for His guidance in your study. It is our desire that you will become increasingly changed into His likeness by beholding the Lord through His Word.

Today's Meditation - Psalms

Psalm 109:6-12
This portion of the psalm speaks about God’s judgment upon the wicked, which David brought up in the opening verses. He now asks the Lord to take vengeance on all he has and does. Indeed, we must leave the matter of vengeance to the Lord. In verse 8, when he says, “let his days be few; and let another take his office,” he was, no doubt, referring to the betrayal of his counselor, Ahithophel. But, in Acts 1:20, it is applied to Judas who betrayed our Lord. All things are “naked and open” to the knowledge of God (Hebrews 4:13). No one is getting away with anything.
  1. The consequence the wicked should experience – verse 6
  2. The condemnation he should receive – verse 7
  3. The prophetic connection with Judas – verse 8
  4. The children of the wicked – verses 9-10
  5. The catching of what he deserves – verse 11
  6. The cry for vengeance by withholding mercy from him – verse 12
Of course, God will determine what will be done to the wicked. David expresses what he feels for what was done to him. Many of us feel the same when we are treated poorly, accused falsely, and attacked without cause. But, we must leave it with the Lord (Romans 12:17-21)!
Verse for Meditation: Verse 7 – “When he shall be judged, let him be condemned: and let his prayer become sin.”
