Today's Bible Reading

September 19, 2020
Today's Bible Reading Plan selections can be found below. If you don't have a Bible with you, just click the references to read each passage online:

Old Testament
Isaiah 49-50  —  8.0 minutes
Proverbs 27:15-27  —  2.5 minutes

New Testament
Luke 23:44-49  —  1.5 minutes
Hebrews 11:1-16  —  4.5 minutes

Total Average Read Time — 16.5 minutes
This reading plan will make it easy and fun for you to read through the entire Bible this year. Here are a few things to keep in mind:
  • Although the plan begins with January, you can begin at any time during the year.
  • Each month’s readings are based on 25 days worth of readings, which means you get several free days if you ever fall behind. This makes reaching your goal a lot more possible!
  • Each day’s readings will include selections from both the Old and New Testament, reinforcing the incredible unity of the Scriptures. Perhaps most important, you will focus daily on the life of Jesus by reading a portion of one of the Gospels every single day of the year.
May God bless you as you open His precious Word each day, and remember to pray for His guidance in your study. It is our desire that you will become increasingly changed into His likeness by beholding the Lord through His Word.

Today's Meditation - Psalms

Psalm 106:44-48
In spite of Israel’s sin, rebellion, slavery, and defeat, the Lord delivered them when they cried out for His help. What a wonderful God we have! He loves us, and His grace is greater than our sin. Because He remembers His covenant, and because He is a God of great mercy, there is hope for us all. Our God will save us when we confess and repent. Proverbs 28:13 says we will find compassion when we get right with the Lord.
  1. The cry that He hears – verse 44
  2. The covenant He remembers – verse 45
  3. The concern which others had for them – verse 46
  4. The call for God’s salvation and praise – verse 47
  5. The commitment to praise the Lord – verse 48
The way this psalm ends is so beautiful – “Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting; and let all the people say, Amen. Praise ye the LORD.” What more needs to be said? Let’s just praise the Lord!
Verse for Meditation: Verse 44 – “Nevertheless He regarded their affliction, when He heard their cry.”

Today's Prayer

“Thank You, Lord, for being so merciful to me when I don’t deserve anything but hell; I praise You, my Deliverer.”
