Today's Meditation - Psalms
Psalm 106:12-16
It is quite amazing to see Israel believing in the Lord, and then immediately turning away from Him. We are no better. We do it often even when we do not recognize that we do. We are so prone to respond to the Lord on the basis of our circumstances. If things are good, we praise Him; but, if things are bad, we complain. The result is very interesting (verse 15) – God met their need, but sent “leanness into their soul.” Their physical hunger was satisfied, but their spiritual hunger grew larger, and their spiritual strength greatly diminished.
Verse for Meditation: “They soon forgat His works; they waited not for His counsel.”

- Their faith was sometimes evident – verse 12
- Their forgetting was also clear – verse 13
- Their failure to trust God continued – verse 14
- Their spiritual food was lacking – verse 15
- Their following of the leaders was weak – verse 16
Verse for Meditation: “They soon forgat His works; they waited not for His counsel.”
