Today's Bible Reading

September 10, 2020
Today's Bible Reading Plan selections can be found below. If you don't have a Bible with you, just click the references to read each passage online:

Old Testament
Isaiah 27-28  —  8.0 minutes
Proverbs 23:1-18  —  3.0 minutes

New Testament
Luke 22:39-46  —  1.5 minutes
Hebrews 6:13-20  —  2.0 minutes

Total Average Read Time — 14.5 minutes
This reading plan will make it easy and fun for you to read through the entire Bible this year. Here are a few things to keep in mind:
  • Although the plan begins with January, you can begin at any time during the year.
  • Each month’s readings are based on 25 days worth of readings, which means you get several free days if you ever fall behind. This makes reaching your goal a lot more possible!
  • Each day’s readings will include selections from both the Old and New Testament, reinforcing the incredible unity of the Scriptures. Perhaps most important, you will focus daily on the life of Jesus by reading a portion of one of the Gospels every single day of the year.
May God bless you as you open His precious Word each day, and remember to pray for His guidance in your study. It is our desire that you will become increasingly changed into His likeness by beholding the Lord through His Word.

Today's Meditation - Psalms

Psalm 105:42-45
God kept His promise to His people. It was an unconditional covenant with Abraham, and in spite of the people’s rebellion, God was (and is) faithful to what He said. Many of us forget the promises we have made, but God never does. He always “remembered His holy promise.” What a blessed confidence we have in the faithfulness of our God. The children of Israel did not deserve it, but His faithfulness did it. For 40 years, He provided for their needs, even though they often complained and murmured about His provision.
  1. The promise the Lord remembered – verse 42
  2. The people He brought forth with joy – verse 43
  3. The places He gave to them for an inheritance – verse 44
  4. The purpose He had in it all – verse 45a
  5. The praise He alone deserves – verse 45b
When God brought them to the promised land, they did not come empty-handed. He gave them “lands” and filled their hearts with “joy” and “gladness.”
Verse for Meditation: Verse 42 – “For He remembered His holy promise, and Abraham His servant.”
