Old Testament

Psalms 19  —  3.0 minutes

New Testament
Matthew 8:14-22  —  2.0 minutes
Acts 11:19-30  —  3.0 minutes

Total Average Read Time — 16.0 minutes

This reading plan will make it easy and fun for you to read through the entire Bible this year. Here are a few things to keep in mind:
  • Although the plan begins with January, you can begin at any time during the year.
  • Each month’s readings are based on 25 days worth of readings, which means you get several free days if you ever fall behind. This makes reaching your goal a lot more possible!
  • Each day’s readings will include selections from both the Old and New Testament, reinforcing the incredible unity of the Scriptures. Perhaps most important, you will focus daily on the life of Jesus by reading a portion of one of the Gospels every single day of the year.
May God bless you as you open His precious Word each day, and remember to pray for His guidance in your study. It is our desire that you will become increasingly changed into His likeness by beholding the Lord through His Word.

Today's Meditation - Psalms

Psalm 11:1-7
What a wonderful way to begin this psalm – “In the LORD put I my trust.” That is the only way to handle a wicked world. Verse 3 reminds us of our helplessness when the “foundations be destroyed.” No matter what the wicked do, it is our responsibility to love “righteousness” and to “trust” in the Lord alone and always!
  1. The fallacy of trying to hide from what the wicked do – verses 1-2
  2. The foundations that are crucial – verse 3
  3. The fact of the Lord’s sovereignty over all – verse 4
  4. The future of God’s judgment upon the wicked – verses 5-6
  5. The face of the Lord toward the upright – verse 7
Never forget that the Lord is still on His throne – He is not merely a passive observer of human events! His judgment day is coming, and we need to trust in Him!
Verse for Meditation: Verse 4 – “The LORD is in His holy temple; the LORD’s throne is in heaven: His eyes behold, His eye-lids try, the children of men."

Today's Prayer
