Today's Bible Reading

July 11, 2020
Today's Bible Reading Plan selections can be found below. If you don't have a Bible with you, just click the references to read each passage online:

Old Testament
1 Chronicles 26-28  —  7.5 minutes
Psalms 136  —  4.0 minutes

New Testament
Luke 9:37-50  —  3.5 minutes
1 Thessalonians 2:1-9  —  2.5 minutes

Total Average Read Time — 17.5 minutes
This reading plan will make it easy and fun for you to read through the entire Bible this year. Here are a few things to keep in mind:
  • Although the plan begins with January, you can begin at any time during the year.
  • Each month’s readings are based on 25 days worth of readings, which means you get several free days if you ever fall behind. This makes reaching your goal a lot more possible!
  • Each day’s readings will include selections from both the Old and New Testament, reinforcing the incredible unity of the Scriptures. Perhaps most important, you will focus daily on the life of Jesus by reading a portion of one of the Gospels every single day of the year.
May God bless you as you open His precious Word each day, and remember to pray for His guidance in your study. It is our desire that you will become increasingly changed into His likeness by beholding the Lord through His Word.

Today's Meditation - Psalms

Read Psalm 85:8-13
The wonderful blessings of repentance and revival are enumerated in this brief portion of God’s Word. It is important to listen to what the Lord says, and to recognize that He wants to bless us more than we want to receive it. The references to the “land” in verses 9 and 12 remind us of God’s covenant to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. In addition to the promise of a “nation” and a “seed” (descendant) who will bless the entire world, God promises a special “land” where His people would dwell. One day, all that God has promised will be fulfilled!
  1. The importance of listening to God – verse 8
  2. The intention of God in His salvation – verse 9
  3. The ingredients of God’s blessings – verses 10-11
  4. The impact upon His people and His land – verses 12-13
Yes, God has promised great blessings upon His people. The problem has always been the attitude and actions that have produced complaining and rebellion, rather than righteousness and peace. May God help us to understand.
Verse for MeditationVerse 12 – “Yea, the LORD shall give that which is good; and our land shall yield her increase.”

Today's Prayer

“Help me, Lord, to listen to what You say in Your Word, and to know and enjoy the wonderful blessings You have promised.”
Prayer Center
As Christians, we are called to pray for God’s guidance and wisdom. We feel it is more imperative than ever for believers to stand together in prayerful unity as the world continues on a downward spiral toward the Tribulation hour. Calamity causes people to waste huge amounts of time fixated on watching the destruction instead of praying for protection and God’s miraculous interventions.

The Bible is filled with verses encouraging us to stay focused on praying for God’s will for our lives; for the safety and wellbeing of our families, ministries and leaders; for the spiritual awakening of the unsaved so they to come to true salvation in Christ; and of course for one another and anything that the Lord places upon our hearts.
Up to the final moments of our days on earth, until the day of the Rapture of the Church, we are dedicated to be prayer warriors for the cause of Christ. Each Monday we publish prayer needs and invite fellow believers to pray.
