Today's Bible Reading

June 8, 2020
Today's Bible Reading Plan selections can be found below. If you don't have a Bible with you, just click the references to read each passage online:

Old Testament
1 Kings 12  —  7.5 minutes
Psalms 119:57-64  —  1.5 minutes

New Testament
Luke 2:41-52  —  2.5 minutes
Ephesians 4:17-24  —  1.5 minutes

Total Average Read Time — 13.0 minutes
This reading plan will make it easy and fun for you to read through the entire Bible this year. Here are a few things to keep in mind:
  • Although the plan begins with January, you can begin at any time during the year.
  • Each month’s readings are based on 25 days worth of readings, which means you get several free days if you ever fall behind. This makes reaching your goal a lot more possible!
  • Each day’s readings will include selections from both the Old and New Testament, reinforcing the incredible unity of the Scriptures. Perhaps most important, you will focus daily on the life of Jesus by reading a portion of one of the Gospels every single day of the year.
May God bless you as you open His precious Word each day, and remember to pray for His guidance in your study. It is our desire that you will become increasingly changed into His likeness by beholding the Lord through His Word.

Today's Meditation - Psalms

Read Psalm 73:18-23
Reflecting on the plight of the wicked, the psalmist was reminded of his own spiritual condition and his need of God’s help and strength. Never doubt for a moment that the wicked will escape the judgment of God – they will not! They may “prosper” now, but they will experience the due penalty of their error in the future.
  1. The casting down of the wicked – verse 18
  2. The consuming with terrors – verse 19
  3. The conclusion that God makes – verse 20
  4. The condition of the psalmist – verses 21-22
  5. The care which the Lord gives to His own – verse 23
In spite of our own sinfulness and depravity, our propensity to do evil, when our trust is in the Lord, underneath us are the “everlasting arms (Deuteronomy 33:27).” The Lord will hold us up!
Verse for Meditation: Verse 23 – “Nevertheless I am continually with Thee: Thou hast holden me by my right hand.”

Today's Prayer

“May I never forget that I deserve Your judgment, O Lord, and may I always thank You for Your care and protection of my life.”
Prayer Center
As Christians, we are called to pray for God’s guidance and wisdom. We feel it is more imperative than ever for believers to stand together in prayerful unity as the world continues on a downward spiral toward the Tribulation hour. Calamity causes people to waste huge amounts of time fixated on watching the destruction instead of praying for protection and God’s miraculous interventions.

The Bible is filled with verses encouraging us to stay focused on praying for God’s will for our lives; for the safety and wellbeing of our families, ministries and leaders; for the spiritual awakening of the unsaved so they to come to true salvation in Christ; and of course for one another and anything that the Lord places upon our hearts.
Up to the final moments of our days on earth, until the day of the Rapture of the Church, we are dedicated to be prayer warriors for the cause of Christ. Each Monday we publish prayer needs and invite fellow believers to pray.
