Today's Bible Reading

Old Testament
2 Samuel 5-7  —  7.5 minutes
Psalms 109  —  5.5 minutes

New Testament
Mark 14:12-31  —  5.0 minutes
2 Corinthians 13  —  3.5 minutes

Total Average Read Time — 21.5 minutes
This reading plan will make it easy and fun for you to read through the entire Bible this year. Here are a few things to keep in mind:
  • Although the plan begins with January, you can begin at any time during the year.
  • Each month’s readings are based on 25 days worth of readings, which means you get several free days if you ever fall behind. This makes reaching your goal a lot more possible!
  • Each day’s readings will include selections from both the Old and New Testament, reinforcing the incredible unity of the Scriptures. Perhaps most important, you will focus daily on the life of Jesus by reading a portion of one of the Gospels every single day of the year.
May God bless you as you open His precious Word each day, and remember to pray for His guidance in your study. It is our desire that you will become increasingly changed into His likeness by beholding the Lord through His Word.

Today's Meditation - Psalms

Read Psalm 67:1-7
Reasons for praising the Lord are given, but the first and foremost reason is the nature of God Himself – because of Who He is! The psalmist is making the point that the blessings we experience are directly related to our acknowledgment of the Lord in all our ways. When we fail to praise Him, we jeopardize our own situation. This leads us to say that God apparently wants to bless us more than we want to receive it!
  1. His mercy is greatly needed – verse 1
  2. His medicine is greatly needed – verse 2
  3. His might is to be praised – verses 3-5
  4. His method of blessing needs to be known – verses 6-7
There are many examples of God’s blessing to which we could point. The message to our hearts in this psalm is to praise Him and let it be known. All of God’s people are exhorted to praise Him. Verse 4 makes it clear that one of the reasons to do so is His sovereign control over all the nations of the world.
Verse for Meditation: Verse 4 – “O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for Thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth.”

Today's Prayer

“Lord, thank You for Your many blessings, and that You are in control of all the nations of the world.”
Prayer Center
As Christians, we are called to pray for God’s guidance and wisdom. We feel it is more imperative than ever for believers to stand together in prayerful unity as the world continues on a downward spiral toward the Tribulation hour. Calamity causes people to waste huge amounts of time fixated on watching the destruction instead of praying for protection and God’s miraculous interventions.

The Bible is filled with verses encouraging us to stay focused on praying for God’s will for our lives; for the safety and wellbeing of our families, ministries and leaders; for the spiritual awakening of the unsaved so they to come to true salvation in Christ; and of course for one another and anything that the Lord places upon our hearts.
Up to the final moments of our days on earth, until the day of the Rapture of the Church, we are dedicated to be prayer warriors for the cause of Christ. Each Monday we publish prayer needs and invite fellow believers to pray.
