Bible Promises

"I think that when people give themselves time to be quiet, God will really speak wonderful things to their hearts. These promises are for people who will take the time to listen. They won't try to outdo the noise of the world or impress with special effects. They are for the hurting, the weak, and the searching." --Mark Wash

And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.  ~Galatians 3:29

Christians today are now heirs to God's promise to Abraham because we belong to Jesus Christ. Just as Abraham believed God and his faith was counted as righteousness (Genesis 15:6), so are all today who believe in God’s Son justified apart from the Law. In this way, Abraham is the “father” of all who believe (Romans 4:11-17). Just contemplate that for a second. Romans 8:17 says that you are an heir of God and a joint heir with Jesus. Because of the promises made to Abraham, you and I are beneficiaries of what God has done for us through sending His Son, Jesus Christ, into this world.

God told Abraham in Genesis 12 that he would be the father of many nations and a blessing to many. You were part of that promise. The blessing of Abraham is the gracious heavenly gift that Abraham received as part of God’s plan to create a new nation on earth.

May God and our Father show each of us today what it means to be an heir in His amazing kingdom. We are heirs of God and co-heirs with our Elder Brother, Jesus Christ. Being part of the eternal family of the living God is the highest calling and the greatest destiny.

Galatians 4:7 says, "Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ."

Prayer

Thank You, Father, for making me one of Your beloved heirs in Christ. Please help me see into the eternal part of Your heart so I can better understand what it means to be an heir to all your promises. May all of my other roles and identities in life give way to the eternal identity I will have as Your beloved child and co-heir with Jesus in Your everlasting kingdom.

I pray in Jesus' name. Amen.

    About

Although every promise in the Bible is important, not all apply to the child of God. If you have made Jesus Christ the Lord of your life, all of the promises are precious and important! If you haven't yet felt God's love through His Son, Jesus Christ, we hope that by reading these promises, you will gain a better idea of how great God is and how great His plans and purposes are for your life.

2 Corinthians 1:20 reminds the child of God that no matter how many promises God has made, they are all "Yes" in Christ. And so we say "Amen" through Him to bring glory to God. The apostle Paul writes, "For all the promises of God in Him are yea, and in Him Amen, unto the glory of God by us."

We hope that each daily promise will teach you more about the God who keeps all promises.
