Bible Promises

"I think that when people give themselves time to be quiet, God will really speak wonderful things to their hearts. These promises are for people who will take the time to listen. They won't try to outdo the noise of the world or impress with special effects. They are for the hurting, the weak, and the searching." --Mark Wash

. . He hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world, . . Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself . . ~Ephesians 1:4-5

Picture
The Father was pleased to choose us before the world began. He saw the day when we would say yes to the free gift of His Son's life for ours and join His wonderful family. He saw us before He even spoke the world into being!

Our adoption is different from any other human adoption because God has given us His own Spirit as a down payment on our inheritance. We are not just servants in His house; we are His real children, joint heirs with our Elder Brother Jesus, and we are seated in Christ in heavenly places.

What a wonderful promise! God's plan for us to be part of His family is the basis for every other promise and rule. Ephesians 1:4 says that we are holy and without blame before Him in love because of what Jesus Christ did for us. Because of what Jesus did for us, we will always be God's children!

1 John 3:1 says it so well, "Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God . . ."

Prayer:

Thank you, Father, for loving me and for choosing me before the world was made. Please help me believe that I am one of your beloved heirs and that I really do belong to you. I want to be sure of the eternal inheritance Jesus gave me long before you made the world, because I live under the waterfall of your great love and blessing today.

In Jesus' name, Amen

    About

Although every promise in the Bible is important, not all apply to the child of God. If you have made Jesus Christ the Lord of your life, all of the promises are precious and important! If you haven't yet felt God's love through His Son, Jesus Christ, we hope that by reading these promises, you will gain a better idea of how great God is and how great His plans and purposes are for your life.

2 Corinthians 1:20 reminds the child of God that no matter how many promises God has made, they are all "Yes" in Christ. And so we say "Amen" through Him to bring glory to God. The apostle Paul writes, "For all the promises of God in Him are yea, and in Him Amen, unto the glory of God by us."

We hope that each daily promise will teach you more about the God who keeps all promises.
