PROMISE #45 - FEBRUARY 14

Charity [love in action] never faileth:  . . ~1 Corinthians 13:8

The Greek word for "charity" (love) in this verse is "agape," which means God's never-ending, unconditional love. People often read this well-known chapter from the Bible at weddings to show how strong love is.

I think you should read the whole chapter of 1 Corinthians 13 as often as you can to remember how important love is to God. Paul the Apostle says that love is the best thing about God that we can try to get.

We can have faith that we can move mountains, give all our things to the poor, know all mysteries and knowledge, and even die as a martyr, but if we don't have love, it means nothing.

1 John 4:16 says that God is love. His love for us is unconditional and everlasting, and it flows out to us all the time. The message in today's promise is short and sweet. You can always count on God's love. Always.

On Valentine's Day, a day when many people celebrate love, let's all remember the greatest love of all, which comes from the Father through His Son, Jesus Christ. God's love for us will never end. Love from people on Earth may let us down from time to time, but God's love for us will never change and will last forever.

Thank you, Father, for Your love that will never fail me. Even though other people may let me down, I can always count on your steady, limitless love to lift me up and give me strength when I need it.

Please help me make the search for Your love the most important thing in my life so that I can live in Your love and feel Your love living in me.
