PROMISE #40 - FEBRUARY 9

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. ~Proverbs 3:5-6

Over the years, Proverbs 3:5-6 has meant a lot to me personally. The great news for someone like me, who sometimes relies on his own resources, is that I don't have to rely on my understanding to get through life.

The promise for today tells us to put our faith in the Lord and not in our ability to handle things. Strong's concordance says that the Hebrew word for "trust" in this passage is "batach." The word means to be confident or sure, be bold, confident, secure, sure, careless, to hope, to trust.

The more we believe that God cares about us, the more we can trust Him to guide us. We can let Him lead us wherever we go if we know for sure that He loves us and is good.

My prayer for all of us is that we would be more sure than ever that our God and Father is good and that we would trust Him a little more today than we did yesterday. In doing so, we may find that He is a faithful Father whom we can trust with everything we have!

Prayer:

Thank you, Father, for saying that You will help me in every part of my life. Please help me trust You more with every choice I have to make today. I can trust Your loving care completely because I know You have my best interests at heart.

You are my faithful Father who meets all my needs. Today, I choose not to rely on my understanding but to trust You with all my heart.
