Promise #4 - January 4

So God created man in His own image, . . . and God blessed them . . .  ~Genesis 1:28-28 

We are made in God's image (I realize that image was marred when the fall of man happened as recorded in Genesis 5). Give that some thought. We were made to look like God Himself! What do you think the angels thought when they first saw Adam and Eve? What a wonderful gift it is to be made in the image of the One who put us together in our mother's womb!

We should never take this gift for granted. We should always be amazed that we were made to look like God. Two thousand years ago, when Jesus arrived on Earth, He made it possible for us to become like Him inside and out (Romans 8:29). This made Him the firstborn of many brothers and sisters.

Today, I pray that we would live in the light of our Father's original blessing, that we would be fruitful, multiply, and have dominion over the whole earth, knowing that we were made to look just like our Heavenly Father.

Prayer:

Thank you, Father, for making me in Your image and giving my life Your blessing. Please help me see myself through the lens of Your love and acceptance without conditions. I hope that when I look in the mirror today, I will remember how much I look like You. Thank You for giving me every good and perfect gift that I have in Christ. Today, I choose to live my life in the light of all Your blessings.
