Promise #30 - January 30

Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. ​. . ~Matthew 13:43

Jesus tells a few stories in Matthew 13 that show what the kingdom of God is like. He tells His followers in verse 43 that the righteous (those who are in a good relationship with God) will shine like the sun in their Father's kingdom one day.

This is such a beautiful analogy! The Bible says in Ephesians 5:8, "For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light." Jesus says in Matthew 13:43 that we will all shine like the sun in our Heavenly Father's kingdom because we are called to be children of light.

Heaven will be such a beautiful place! There are millions of God's children, each one shining like the sun, living forever in their Father's kingdom. I wonder if we'll need to wear sunglasses to talk to each other (lol). Seriously, I hope this picture and promise give you strength as you walk by faith in a world that can be dark at times.

Prayer:

Thank You, Father, for the promise that I will always shine like the sun in Your kingdom. I pray that I will always remember my wonderful, eternal future so that the darkness in this broken world doesn't get to me. I pray that the Light that is inside me, even now, will shine brightly wherever I go so that others can see the Christ who lives in me.
