Promise #22 - January 22

Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you.  ~1 Peter 5:7

Everyone on this planet has had an anxious thought at some point. A lot of us have many anxious thoughts to deal with. What makes us worry? We believe that worrying about it will somehow make things better.

Matthew 6:25–34 says that if God takes care of the birds and the grass in the field, He will take care of us too. So take a deep breath and relax. God is taking care of you.

The Apostle Peter tells us in today's promise to give all of our worries to God because He cares for us. The Greek word for "casting" means "to throw on." God wants you to give Him all of your worries so that you don't have to carry them anymore.

When I think of this promise, I picture a backpack full of rocks that we carry around. Every time we take a rock out of our backpack and throw it away, it makes our load lighter. God wants us to do the same thing with all of our worries. When we give our worries to Him, we give Him the responsibility and care for each one of them.

He can carry our burdens better than we can because He is much bigger and stronger than we are. Give God all of your worries and cares, because He loves you and wants to help you with them.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for caring about me so much that You don't want me to worry or be anxious about anything. So today, Abba, I give you all of my worries, knowing that You love me and want me to live a life without worry. Thank You for helping me live without worry today by sending your Holy Spirit to live in me.
