Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: He preserveth the souls of His saints; He delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked. ~Psalm 97:10 God keeps us safe. God is our protector, and He promises to keep us safe from the wicked. No matter what problems you have, God is bigger because good fathers keep their kids safe. That's all there is to it. Aside from this revelation, the world can be a very scary place to live. But it makes a huge difference to know that our heavenly Father is the biggest, strongest, and most loving Father in the whole world!
May we all come to believe this truth on a level that we have never known before. Today, I pray that knowing how much our Father loves and protects us will bring peace, rest, and safety to our souls so that we can be sure that He is our fortress and shield. May we affirm together with the Psalmist, "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust." (Psalm 91:1–2). Prayer: Thank you, Father, for being my Strong Tower, Shield, and Defender. Help me to remember that my home is in the center of your embrace, even now. No matter what problems I have today, I hope that the peace and rest that comes from knowing I am loved and safe will be with me. I offer this prayer in the name of Jesus. Amen.
