PROMISE #15 - JANUARY 15

. . . for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.  ~Psalm 37:24

The fear of failing is a strong reason not to take risks. We may avoid tasks if we think God will turn us down when we err. I love today's promise because it stresses that the Lord doesn't mind when we mess up. The reality is that He consistently extends His hand to assist us in getting back on our feet.

All of our kids had to learn how to walk when they were little. They would fall the first time they tried. This pattern continued for the third, fourth, and subsequent attempts. We would cheer them on and be ready to catch them if they fell every time they took a step. We weren't surprised that they fell, and it didn't matter because we knew they would get back up and try again.

The same goes for the Lord. He thinks of us as just little boys and girls who are learning how to live. He knows everything about us and loves us deeply. He is always there for us when we fall, ready to take our hand and help us get back on track.

Prayer:

Thank You, Father, for holding me up with Your hand every step of the way. I really appreciate how patient You are with me, even when I make mistakes. I pray that I will have the strength and determination to get back up if I make a mistake or do something wrong. So today, dear Father, I reach out my hand to You, knowing that Your Holy Spirit will always guide me in the right direction, no matter what happens.
