Bible Promises

"I think that when people give themselves time to be quiet, God will really speak wonderful things to their hearts. These promises are for people who will take the time to listen. They won't try to outdo the noise of the world or impress with special effects. They are for the hurting, the weak, and the searching." --Mark Wash

Promise #11 - January 11

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.  ~Jeremiah 29:11

Picture
How do you feel when you think about your future? Are you excited about what is to come, or does contemplating the future make you nervous? When the economy is shaky and wars are looming, it's easy to feel anxious about the future. But God says in today's promise that your future is full of hope.

It makes me feel better to know that God has a plan for my future that is full of hope. I don't have to worry about what's coming because my Heavenly Father has a plan for me. And of course, we know that living in the light of God's love forever is the best thing that can happen to us!

May the truth of today's promise bring you peace. You may not know what the future holds, but God does. He loves you like a father and is determined to give you hope for the future. Does this mean that there won't be any problems? Not at all.

But we do know that, as Paul said in Romans 8:28, ". . that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."

Prayer

Thank you, Father, for giving me an eternal hope for my future that will never go away. In this moment, there is nothing I need to be afraid of that won't be overshadowed by an eternity of love and safety in Your arms. Please help me keep my eyes on Your goodness today so I don't get too upset by the things that are wrong in the world. I choose to rest in this promise today because I know that Your plans for me are full of hope and a bright future.

I pray in Jesus' name, Amen

    About

Although every promise in the Bible is important, not all apply to the child of God. If you have made Jesus Christ the Lord of your life, all of the promises are precious and important! If you haven't yet felt God's love through His Son, Jesus Christ, we hope that by reading these promises, you will gain a better idea of how great God is and how great His plans and purposes are for your life.

2 Corinthians 1:20 reminds the child of God that no matter how many promises God has made, they are all "Yes" in Christ. And so we say "Amen" through Him to bring glory to God. The apostle Paul writes, "For all the promises of God in Him are yea, and in Him Amen, unto the glory of God by us."

We hope that each daily promise will teach you more about the God who keeps all promises.
