Today's Bible Reading

August 7, 2020
Today's Bible Reading Plan selections can be found below. If you don't have a Bible with you, just click the references to read each passage online:

Old Testament
Ezra 9  —  6.5 minutes
Proverbs 7  —  4.5 minutes

New Testament
Luke 15:1-10  —  2.5 minutes
1 Timothy 5:1-15  —  3.0 minutes

Total Average Read Time — 16.5 minutes
This reading plan will make it easy and fun for you to read through the entire Bible this year. Here are a few things to keep in mind:
  • Although the plan begins with January, you can begin at any time during the year.
  • Each month’s readings are based on 25 days worth of readings, which means you get several free days if you ever fall behind. This makes reaching your goal a lot more possible!
  • Each day’s readings will include selections from both the Old and New Testament, reinforcing the incredible unity of the Scriptures. Perhaps most important, you will focus daily on the life of Jesus by reading a portion of one of the Gospels every single day of the year.
May God bless you as you open His precious Word each day, and remember to pray for His guidance in your study. It is our desire that you will become increasingly changed into His likeness by beholding the Lord through His Word.

Today's Meditation - Psalms

Read Psalm 95:1-5
The psalms of worship and praise are such a refreshment to the believing heart. They reveal what our Lord really wants from us – not complaint, indifference, or rebellion – He desires our praise and our thanksgiving. I Thessalonians 5:18 says, “In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” Can you make a list today of that for which you should give thanks? Thanksgiving will change the attitudes of our hearts.
  1. The invitation to sing unto the Lord – verses 1-2
  2. The incomparableness of our Lord – verse 3
  3. The ingredients of His greatness that cause us to praise Him – verses 4-5
“Make a joyful noise” – that’s good admonition for all who can’t sing well! God wants our praise, and the chief motivation behind it (in this passage) is His creation. It is His handiwork, and the heavens do declare His glory! Spend some time today giving Him praise and thanks for all that He has created for our enjoyment and blessing!
Verse for Meditation: Verse 1 – “O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the Rock of our salvation.”

Today's Prayer

“Thank You, Lord, for what You have created in our universe and on our planet – all of it speaks of Your mighty power.”
Prayer Center
As Christians, we are called to pray for God’s guidance and wisdom. We feel it is more imperative than ever for believers to stand together in prayerful unity as the world continues on a downward spiral toward the Tribulation hour. Calamity causes people to waste huge amounts of time fixated on watching the destruction instead of praying for protection and God’s miraculous interventions.

The Bible is filled with verses encouraging us to stay focused on praying for God’s will for our lives; for the safety and wellbeing of our families, ministries and leaders; for the spiritual awakening of the unsaved so they to come to true salvation in Christ; and of course for one another and anything that the Lord places upon our hearts.
Up to the final moments of our days on earth, until the day of the Rapture of the Church, we are dedicated to be prayer warriors for the cause of Christ. Each Monday we publish prayer needs and invite fellow believers to pray.
