Today's Bible Verse

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. John 16:13

Today's Bible Reading

August 4, 2020
Today's Bible Reading Plan selections can be found below. If you don't have a Bible with you, just click the references to read each passage online:

Old Testament
Ezra 6  —  7.5 minutes
Proverbs 4  —  4.5 minutes

New Testament
Luke 14:1-14  —  3.5 minutes
1 Timothy 3:1-10  —  2.0 minutes

Total Average Read Time — 17.5 minutes
This reading plan will make it easy and fun for you to read through the entire Bible this year. Here are a few things to keep in mind:
  • Although the plan begins with January, you can begin at any time during the year.
  • Each month’s readings are based on 25 days worth of readings, which means you get several free days if you ever fall behind. This makes reaching your goal a lot more possible!
  • Each day’s readings will include selections from both the Old and New Testament, reinforcing the incredible unity of the Scriptures. Perhaps most important, you will focus daily on the life of Jesus by reading a portion of one of the Gospels every single day of the year.
May God bless you as you open His precious Word each day, and remember to pray for His guidance in your study. It is our desire that you will become increasingly changed into His likeness by beholding the Lord through His Word.

Today's Meditation - Psalms

Read Psalm 94:1-7
Romans 12:17-21 urges us not to take revenge on those who have mistreated us or harmed us or done evil against us. The reason? Vengeance belongs to the Lord – we must leave matters with Him. We are to overcome evil with good. But, we still ask the questions recorded in this passage – “LORD, how long shall the wicked triumph?” God’s judgment is coming, and the entire tribulation period is regarded as the day of God’s wrath and vengeance upon this world.
  1. The request for God to act – verse 1
  2. The reward which God will bring – verse 2
  3. The realization that God is delaying His answers – verses 3-4
  4. The respect that lack for God’s people – verses 5-6
  5. The reasoning of their hearts argues that God will not see or do anything about it – verse 7
How mistaken the wicked are! God will bring every thought, word, and action into judgment. The wicked are facing a horrible future, the judgment of hell itself.
Verse for Meditation: Verse 1 – “O LORD God, to Whom vengeance belongeth; O God, to Whom vengeance belongeth, shew Thyself.”

Today's Prayer

“Teach me, O Lord, to leave things in Your hands, and not to seek revenge for any harm done to me.”
Prayer Center
As Christians, we are called to pray for God’s guidance and wisdom. We feel it is more imperative than ever for believers to stand together in prayerful unity as the world continues on a downward spiral toward the Tribulation hour. Calamity causes people to waste huge amounts of time fixated on watching the destruction instead of praying for protection and God’s miraculous interventions.

The Bible is filled with verses encouraging us to stay focused on praying for God’s will for our lives; for the safety and wellbeing of our families, ministries and leaders; for the spiritual awakening of the unsaved so they to come to true salvation in Christ; and of course for one another and anything that the Lord places upon our hearts.
Up to the final moments of our days on earth, until the day of the Rapture of the Church, we are dedicated to be prayer warriors for the cause of Christ. Each Monday we publish prayer needs and invite fellow believers to pray.
