Today's Bible Reading

July 9, 2020
Today's Bible Reading Plan selections can be found below. If you don't have a Bible with you, just click the references to read each passage online:

Old Testament
1 Chronicles 20-22  —  8.0 minutes
Psalms 133-134  —  1.5 minutes

New Testament
Luke 9:18-27  —  2.5 minutes
Colossians 4:10-18  —  2.0 minutes

Total Average Read Time — 14.0 minutes
This reading plan will make it easy and fun for you to read through the entire Bible this year. Here are a few things to keep in mind:
  • Although the plan begins with January, you can begin at any time during the year.
  • Each month’s readings are based on 25 days worth of readings, which means you get several free days if you ever fall behind. This makes reaching your goal a lot more possible!
  • Each day’s readings will include selections from both the Old and New Testament, reinforcing the incredible unity of the Scriptures. Perhaps most important, you will focus daily on the life of Jesus by reading a portion of one of the Gospels every single day of the year.
May God bless you as you open His precious Word each day, and remember to pray for His guidance in your study. It is our desire that you will become increasingly changed into His likeness by beholding the Lord through His Word.

Today's Meditation - Psalms

Read Psalm 84:8-12
What wonderful promises and blessings come to the one who longs for God’s presence and desires to worship Him! He is described in this section as the “LORD God of hosts (vv. 8, 12).” He is referred to as “our Shield” and a “sun and shield.” He promises to give “grace and glory” and never keep back from us that which is good. What a wonderful Lord we have!
  1. The cry for God to hear – verses 8-9
  2. The courts of the Lord’s house – verse 10
  3. The character of the Lord Himself – verse 11
  4. The confidence we should have in the Lord – verse 12
Just reading this portion over and over causes your heart to long for the Lord. Many of us prefer the “tents of wickedness” to the “house of God.” We desire what they have and are, and forget that in the Lord we have all we will ever need!
Verse for Meditation: Verse 12 – “O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in Thee.”

Today's Prayer

“I ask You, Lord, to protect Your people, Israel, and all who trust in You.”
Prayer Center
As Christians, we are called to pray for God’s guidance and wisdom. We feel it is more imperative than ever for believers to stand together in prayerful unity as the world continues on a downward spiral toward the Tribulation hour. Calamity causes people to waste huge amounts of time fixated on watching the destruction instead of praying for protection and God’s miraculous interventions.

The Bible is filled with verses encouraging us to stay focused on praying for God’s will for our lives; for the safety and wellbeing of our families, ministries and leaders; for the spiritual awakening of the unsaved so they to come to true salvation in Christ; and of course for one another and anything that the Lord places upon our hearts.
Up to the final moments of our days on earth, until the day of the Rapture of the Church, we are dedicated to be prayer warriors for the cause of Christ. Each Monday we publish prayer needs and invite fellow believers to pray.
