Today's Bible Reading

June 10, 2020
Today's Bible Reading Plan selections can be found below. If you don't have a Bible with you, just click the references to read each passage online:

Old Testament
1 Kings 15-16  —  8.0 minutes
Psalms 119:73-80  —  1.5 minutes

New Testament
Luke 3:21-38  —  5.5 minutes
Ephesians 5:1-21  —  3.5 minutes

Total Average Read Time — 18.5 minutes
This reading plan will make it easy and fun for you to read through the entire Bible this year. Here are a few things to keep in mind:
  • Although the plan begins with January, you can begin at any time during the year.
  • Each month’s readings are based on 25 days worth of readings, which means you get several free days if you ever fall behind. This makes reaching your goal a lot more possible!
  • Each day’s readings will include selections from both the Old and New Testament, reinforcing the incredible unity of the Scriptures. Perhaps most important, you will focus daily on the life of Jesus by reading a portion of one of the Gospels every single day of the year.
May God bless you as you open His precious Word each day, and remember to pray for His guidance in your study. It is our desire that you will become increasingly changed into His likeness by beholding the Lord through His Word.

Today's Meditation - Psalms

Read Psalm 74:1-9
The question that opens the psalm is one which Jewish people have often asked. Paul answered strongly in Romans 11:1-2 that God has never cast away His people! Israel has suffered very much throughout history, and the Bible indicates that God was judging them. But His judgment of Israel was never the same as His judgment of the nations. He would always show compassion and never allow them to be destroyed. His unconditional covenant to them guarantees the existence of Israel forever. If you are a believer in Him, whether Jew or Gentile, He will never forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).
  1. The concern over God’s anger – verse 1
  2. The congregation which belongs to him – verse 2
  3. The conduct of those who attacked Israel – verses 3-8
  4. The confession that had produced their cry – verse 9
It is so true – we don’t know how long God will allow suffering to continue. When there is no clear revelation from God (as verse 9 teaches), then the people of God have no way of knowing why or what is happening to them. Our responsibility is to trust Him no matter what!
Verse for Meditation: Verse 1 – “O God, why hast Thou cast us off for ever? why doth Thine anger smoke against the sheep of Thy pasture?”

Today's Prayer

“No matter how difficult the trial and unexplainable are my circumstances, Lord, I will trust You through it all!”
Prayer Center
As Christians, we are called to pray for God’s guidance and wisdom. We feel it is more imperative than ever for believers to stand together in prayerful unity as the world continues on a downward spiral toward the Tribulation hour. Calamity causes people to waste huge amounts of time fixated on watching the destruction instead of praying for protection and God’s miraculous interventions.

The Bible is filled with verses encouraging us to stay focused on praying for God’s will for our lives; for the safety and wellbeing of our families, ministries and leaders; for the spiritual awakening of the unsaved so they to come to true salvation in Christ; and of course for one another and anything that the Lord places upon our hearts.
Up to the final moments of our days on earth, until the day of the Rapture of the Church, we are dedicated to be prayer warriors for the cause of Christ. Each Monday we publish prayer needs and invite fellow believers to pray.
