Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? Isaiah 58:6

Today's Bible Reading

Today's Bible Reading Plan selections can be found below. If you don't have a Bible with you, just click the references to read each passage online:

Old Testament
1 Samuel 6-8  —  8.0 minutes
Psalms 97  —  2.0 minutes

New Testament
Mark 10:17-34  —  5.0 minutes
2 Corinthians 2  —  4.5 minutes

Total Average Read Time — 19.5 minutes
This reading plan will make it easy and fun for you to read through the entire Bible this year. Here are a few things to keep in mind:
  • Although the plan begins with January, you can begin at any time during the year.
  • Each month’s readings are based on 25 days worth of readings, which means you get several free days if you ever fall behind. This makes reaching your goal a lot more possible!
  • Each day’s readings will include selections from both the Old and New Testament, reinforcing the incredible unity of the Scriptures. Perhaps most important, you will focus daily on the life of Jesus by reading a portion of one of the Gospels every single day of the year.
May God bless you as you open His precious Word each day, and remember to pray for His guidance in your study. It is our desire that you will become increasingly changed into His likeness by beholding the Lord through His Word.

Today's Meditation - Psalms

Read Psalm 59:10-17
David is confident that God is going to deal with the wicked in His way and in His time. No matter what noise the wicked make, his heart will be focused on the Lord, singing praises to His Name and resting in His power.
  1. His confidence in the Lord – verses 10-11
  2. The consuming of the wicked – verses 12-13
  3. The cursing of the wicked – verses 14-15
  4. His conviction that God will defend and protect him – verses 16-17
It is so important to praise the Lord and sing of His power. Focusing on Him takes your eyes off of your difficult circumstances and the awful pressures which the wicked of this world can bring upon us.
Verse for Meditation: Verse 17 – “Unto Thee, O my Strength, will I sing: for God is my defence, and the God of my mercy.”

Today's Prayer

“Thank You, Lord, that no matter what I face from the wicked, You will take care of it all – so I will sing of Your power!”
Prayer Center
As Christians, we are called to pray for God’s guidance and wisdom. We feel it is more imperative than ever for believers to stand together in prayerful unity as the world continues on a downward spiral toward the Tribulation hour. Calamity causes people to waste huge amounts of time fixated on watching the destruction instead of praying for protection and God’s miraculous interventions.

The Bible is filled with verses encouraging us to stay focused on praying for God’s will for our lives; for the safety and wellbeing of our families, ministries and leaders; for the spiritual awakening of the unsaved so they to come to true salvation in Christ; and of course for one another and anything that the Lord places upon our hearts.
Up to the final moments of our days on earth, until the day of the Rapture of the Church, we are dedicated to be prayer warriors for the cause of Christ. Each Monday we publish prayer needs and invite fellow believers to pray.
