Today's Bible Reading

Today's Bible Reading Plan selections can be found below. If you don't have a Bible with you, just click the references to read each passage online:

Old Testament
1 Samuel 3-5  —  8.0 minutes
Psalms 96  —  2.5 minutes

New Testament
Mark 10:1-16  —  3.0 minutes
2 Corinthians 1:12-24  —  3.5 minutes

Total Average Read Time — 17.0 minutes
This reading plan will make it easy and fun for you to read through the entire Bible this year. Here are a few things to keep in mind:
  • Although the plan begins with January, you can begin at any time during the year.
  • Each month’s readings are based on 25 days worth of readings, which means you get several free days if you ever fall behind. This makes reaching your goal a lot more possible!
  • Each day’s readings will include selections from both the Old and New Testament, reinforcing the incredible unity of the Scriptures. Perhaps most important, you will focus daily on the life of Jesus by reading a portion of one of the Gospels every single day of the year.
May God bless you as you open His precious Word each day, and remember to pray for His guidance in your study. It is our desire that you will become increasingly changed into His likeness by beholding the Lord through His Word.

Today's Meditation - Psalms

Read Psalm 59:1-9
King Saul was threatened by God’s promise to put David on the throne. Saul and his men are trying to find David and put him to death. David writes this psalm in desperation, a man being hunted, not for his sins, but simply because God had chosen him. When God wants to use us in a mighty way, it does not mean we will be free from pressure, persecution, and slander. How we need to keep our eyes on the Lord alone!
  1. His prayer for deliverance – verses 1-2
  2. His plea for God’s help – verses 3-4
  3. The punishment of the wicked that He wants God to bring – verse 5
  4. The practice they engage in every night – verses 6-7
  5. His proclamation concerning God’s attitude and protection – verses 8-9
The wicked will always be there to attack until the coming kingdom of our God. God allows it, and has a plan for us through it all. Our response is to trust Him and depend on His help at all times.
Verse for Meditation: Verse 9 – “Because of his strength will I wait upon Thee: for God is my defence.”

Today's Prayer

“I know that You will never forsake me, and that no attacks from the enemy are unknown to You; I trust in You alone.”
Prayer Center
As Christians, we are called to pray for God’s guidance and wisdom. We feel it is more imperative than ever for believers to stand together in prayerful unity as the world continues on a downward spiral toward the Tribulation hour. Calamity causes people to waste huge amounts of time fixated on watching the destruction instead of praying for protection and God’s miraculous interventions.

The Bible is filled with verses encouraging us to stay focused on praying for God’s will for our lives; for the safety and wellbeing of our families, ministries and leaders; for the spiritual awakening of the unsaved so they to come to true salvation in Christ; and of course for one another and anything that the Lord places upon our hearts.
Up to the final moments of our days on earth, until the day of the Rapture of the Church, we are dedicated to be prayer warriors for the cause of Christ. Each Monday we publish prayer needs and invite fellow believers to pray.
