We read in Matthew 11:25-26 says, "At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight."

I suggest you read Matthew 18:1-4 to see this truth more clearly. In this part of the gospel account, the disciples fought over who would be the best in the kingdom. When Jesus called a little child an example of someone He thought was great in His kingdom, I can't imagine how surprised they would have been.

Jesus doesn't want us to act like children, but He does want us to be childlike. Young children are completely dependent on others. They know they're small, and their small bodies hold a lot of humility that makes them completely trust their parents to take care of them. The more we understand how important it is to have a childlike heart toward our Heavenly Father, the more we will understand the secrets of our heavenly Father's wonderful kingdom.

Prayer:

Thank you, Father, for showing Your kingdom to people with childlike hearts. I pray that today I will accept and love the simple beauty of being a child of God. Please help me reconnect with all the wonderful childlike qualities in my heart that You see as amazing.

I pray in Jesus' name. It's great news for me that God has chosen the weak things in the world. In the larger part of this passage from 1 Corinthians 1:26-31, we learn that God has chosen not only the weak things to confuse the strong, but also the poor to confuse the rich and the foolish things of the world to shame the wise.

I think this promise is wonderful news because I think most people are either weak, poor, or foolish. Jesus said that He didn't come for the spiritually healthy but for the sick. The Beatitudes in Matthew 5:1-12 say that the gospel is good news for people who aren't naturally at the top of the "food chain".

This does not mean that the rich, strong, and wise are evil. It does mean that Jesus raises the poor, foolish, and weak to the same level as the cross. In an upside-down kingdom where the first will be last and the last will be first, we should always remember that His strength is made perfect in us when we are weak. (2 Corinthians 12:1–10).

Prayer:

Thank you, Father, for choosing the weak, poor, and foolish people of this world to be your beloved heirs. That means You love me and have chosen me to be an heir in Your great kingdom. We are no longer sinners; we are now sons and daughters. We don't live in the dark anymore; we've been called into the wonderful light and love of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Apostle Peter reminds us in today's Bible verse that God chose us as a royal priesthood and a chosen generation. We are children of the light, so we no longer live in darkness. Today, I want to think about the question, 'Do we think that we are living in God's light right now?'

John calls the devil "the accuser of the brethren" in Revelation 12:10. He is the father of lies, and he will do everything he can to make us think we are still in the dark (John 8:44). We are children of the light, even though we live in a world that has fallen and is full of darkness. Now we are a new creature. The past is gone, and everything is new! (2 Corinthians 5:17)

May we all take our rightful place as sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father, using the blood of the Lamb of God to fulfill our destiny as His children and walk in the light as He is in the light, "For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light." (Ephesians 5:8).

Prayer:

Thank you, Father, for bringing me out of the darkness and into the wonderful light of Your kingdom, which is always growing. Please help me believe that I am really your beloved child and that the things in my past that make me feel ashamed don't define me anymore. Today, I believe and know that I am a child of God who is very loved and a co-heir with Jesus in His eternal inheritance.

I pray in Jesus' name. Amen.

Promise #63 - March 4

http://www.churchfocusministries.com/todays-bible-promise/promise-63-march-4

http://www.churchfocusministries.com/todays-bible-promise/promise-63-march-4#comments

Isaiah 54:10

For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but My kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of My peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee. ~Isaiah 54:10 God's love for you will never change. Before His heart changes for you, the hills and mountains will vanish. His love for you is always there, no matter what you're going through. And that's because God can only love with ALL His heart, which is the only way He can love. Jesus said that His Father loves us the same way He loves Him (John 17:23).

There may be wars and talk of wars. The economy could get better or worse. But no matter what happens to you, God's love will always be there for you. My prayer today is that your Heavenly Father's never-ending, intense love will fill your heart so that you can say what the Apostle Paul said in Romans 8:38–39, "For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Prayer:

Father, thank you that Your love will always be there for me today.
